Best of the New: Food & Restaurants
Hidden Boston "Best American (New) Restaurant, 2009"
Utterly fantastic, The Blue Ox is a bit of the South End in downtown Lynn. And partly because this friendly, laid-back New American spot is on a side street in a city that is not known for its upscale restaurants, it is often easy to get a table. Plenty of street parking and reasonable prices just add to the appeal of this place.
"The Blue Ox restaurant has done a great job pulling together all the right ingredients for a great culinary experience."
"The Blue Ox bound to turn locals into regulars"
"The Blue Ox pulls its weight"

Best Nod for Lynn's Blue Ox
Best New Restaurant - North of Boston
"Given his stints at No. 9 Park and Prezza, chef Matt O'Neil knows from high-end. For the Swampscott native's solo flight, however, he chose to appeal to the rest of us. At his casual American- Mediterranean outpost, there's a juicy blue cheese-stuffed burger for the college kid, quality cuts of swordfish and steak for Mom and Dad, and $6 meal deals with dessert for tykes. Dining out a few times a week here is both an attractive and affordable proposition, making the pull of The Blue Ox strong indeed."
